用英文道謝，只能說thank you嗎？道歉也只能用sorry嗎？

致謝和道歉的方法有很多種，現在就給你介紹幾種新說法，

讓你的英文不再千篇一律！

〈一〉道謝說法

I owe you a big deal.

owe (v.) 欠

在這裡是指對方幫助你，含有你之後會回報給他的那種意思。

【例句】

Thank you for helping me move to the new apartment. I owe you a big deal!

謝謝你協助我搬家，我欠你好多啊！

【換句話說】

  • I owe you.
  • I owe you one.
  • I owe you a lot.
  • I owe you a great deal.

It means a lot to me.

mean (v.) 對...具有意義

對自己有重大意義就引申為「非常感激」的意思。

【例句】

You probably think what you have done for me is nothing, but it means a lot to me.

你可能覺得你為我做的不是多了不起的事，但我依舊非常感激你。

Thanks for having my back.

切記是thanks，不要寫錯囉！

having my back並不是指有我的背，

而是「在背後的支持」！

【例句】

If it wasn’t you, I would get in trouble. Thanks for having my back.

如果不是你，我肯定會惹禍上身！謝謝你在背後幫我撐腰！

【換句話說】

  • Thanks for looking out of me.

Thanks for being such a star.

用這句話時，通常是對方陪你度過了一段低潮，

特別是對方有特別的技能幫助你。

記住「star (n.) 明星」這個字並不會隨便使用，

所以這句話只能對你真心想致謝的人說喔！

【例句】

I think I am feeling better now. Thanks for being such a star when you knew I broke up with Tony.

我想我現在好多了！謝謝你在知道我跟Tony分手後一直陪伴著我！

I really appreciate your help.

appreciate (v.) 感激

appreciate後面直接放名詞作使用，這個用法比較正式

【例句】

You are always willing to help me at work. I really appreciate your help.

在工作上你總是很大方地協助我，我很感謝你！

【換句話說】

I am grateful/thankful for your help.

I couldn’t have done it without + someone.

這個說法也是比較正式，表示對方給予你極大的協助，

你不居功於自己，要讓對方知道你很感激他的付出。

【例句】
Finally, I have passed this exam. I couldn’t have done it without my English teacher.

我終於通過這個考試了！如果沒有我的英文老師，我肯定做不到！

  • It’s my pleasure! 我的榮幸

  • Not a big deal. 舉手之勞而已

〈二〉道歉說法

My bad.

這裡的bad是名詞，指「是我不好」的意思，

這種道歉方法比較不正式，通常用於熟人之間。

【例句】

My bad. Baby, can you stop being mad at me?

是我不好！寶貝，你可以不要再生氣了嗎？

My fault.

fault (n.) 過錯

這句話跟my bad一樣，適用於熟人之間。

【例句】

My fault, sister. I should have listened to you.

姊姊，是我的錯。我應該要聽你的。

My mistake.

mistake (n.) 錯誤

通常用在給予了錯誤的資訊或是造成誤會時使用。

【例句】

My mistake. I will explain to the boss right now.

這是我的錯，我現在立刻去跟老闆解釋。

 

I was wrong on that.

這個道歉方式非常謙虛，是先承認自己有錯誤

I was wrong on that. Your answer is the correct one.

那是我錯了，你的答案才是對的！

【換句話說】

I had that wrong.

I take full responsibility.

full (adj.) 全部的

responsibility (n.) 責任

這個用法非常正式，通常會用在書信中，例如：回覆客訴信件。

【例句】
I am really sorry for letting you have this awful experience in our restaurant. I take full responsibility.

對於您在本餐廳的不愉快用餐經驗，我將全權為此負責！

【換句話說】

  • I sincerely apologize.

I owe you an apology.

通常會說這句話，是犯了很大錯誤了！

【例句】

I shouldn’t say those words to you. I owe you an apology.

我不該向你說那些話的，我欠你一個道歉。

【換句話說】

I want to apologize.

I want to tell you that I am sorry.

【補充】回應方式

  1. It’s ok! 沒關係

  2. No worries! 不用擔心

  3. Apology accepted. 我接受你的道歉

  4. Don’t make the same mistake. 別再犯一樣的錯了
