Time for a change = 停止 / 改變長久以來一直在做的事物
【例句】
After working for the same company for 15 years, Tom feels like it's time for a change.
在同一家公司待了15年後，湯姆覺得是時候換公司了。
【補充】
這個片語比較口語化，而且說明要改變的事物要跟主句呼應。
就如上面的例句一樣，「time for a change」並沒有帶出湯姆是要換工作還是換公司，但前一句有指出「the same company」所以這代表湯姆要換公司。
Come of age = 成熟；成年；發達
【例句】
John has come of age now, he could make his own decisions in life.
約翰已經成熟了，他可以幫自己的人生做決定。
Growing into one of the great medieval trading cities, London truly came of age in the 11th century.
逐漸發展成中世紀重要的貿易城市之一，倫敦在十一世紀時真正臻於成熟。
Crack of dawn = 大清早；黎明；破曉時分
【例句】
We'll have to leave at the crack of dawn.
我們天一亮就得動身。
【補充】
這句片語一律搭配 「at」介系詞。
Five o'clock shadow = 鬍渣
【例句】
You cannot go for your interview with a five o'clock shadow! Go and have it shaved!
你不可以臉上有鬍子的去面試！快去把它們刮乾淨！
For the time being = 暫時；暫且
【例句】
You can stay in my house for the time being, but at the same time, you need to save up so that you can get your own apartment soon.
你可以暫時住我家，但同時你也需要存錢才可以買自己的
【補充】
也可以用 「meanwhile」。
Time flies = 時光飛逝
【例句】
Time flies when you're having fun.
愉快的時光總是過得很快。
As time goes by = 隨著時光的流逝
【例句】
As time goes by, his grandfather's memory seems to worsen / get worst.
隨著時光的流逝，他爺爺的記憶越來越差了。
【補充】
worst = 變差的；變嚴重的
a lot worst = 變更差的；變更嚴重的
當你想要假設一個最糟的情況，大部分都會用「worst-case scenario」
worst-case scenario = 最壞的可能 / 最糟的情況
【例句】
The study concludes that in a worst-case scenario, there might be 80,000 people infected.
該研究得出結論，最壞的情況是可能已經有八萬人受感染。
Have one's moment = 某人成功 / 值得得意的時候 （一律是說明正面的行為或表現）
【例句】
Let him have his moment! He worked really hard for this promotion.
讓他得意一下吧！他為了這個升遷努力了很久。
Here today, gone tomorrow = 今天來，明天走；曇花一現
【例句】
A lot of new internet small firms are here today and gone tomorrow.
很多網路小公司都只是曇花一現。
Be grateful for what we have today because they may be here today and gone tomorrow.
我們應該要珍惜一切因為所有人事物也許今天還在但明天就沒了。
In an instant = 立即；馬上；彈指之間
【例句】
If he apologised and admitted his mistakes, I would take him back in an instant!
如果他道歉然後承認自己的過失，我會馬上和他重歸於好！
Like clockwork = 非常有規律；極為準時
【例句】
Since the recent improvements to the service, the buses are running like clockwork.
自從最近的改善服務後，公車都非常準時的運行。
My mom calls me every Friday evening, as regular as clockwork.
我母親總是非常規律的每個星期五晚上跟我通電話。
【補充】
當你想要形容一個人事物的性質時，可以使用「as...as」 這如同：與...一樣 / 和...一樣 / 似的
as fast as a leopard = 和美洲豹一樣的快
as bright as the sun = 和太陽一樣燦爛
In the long run = 從長遠看；終究
【例句】
This seems like the best solution for our economy in the long run.
從長遠來看這是對我們經濟最有利的辦法。
【補充】
short run = 短期；目前
For short run decisions, the ability to predict seasonal fluctuations is often essential.
對於短期決策，預計季節的變動是很基本的才能。
The moment of truth = 關鍵時刻
【例句】
Lift-off is always the moment of truth for a new rocket.
發射升空始終是一枚新火箭的關鍵時刻。
Have time on one's hand = 某人（手上）有閒暇的時間
【例句】
Lily should start looking for a job since she had graduated and will have a lot of time on her hand.
莉莉應該要開始找工作了，畢竟她已經畢業了她將會有很多閒暇的時間。
【補充】
have a lot of / too much time on one's hand = 某人有很多 / 太多閒暇的時間
have little / too little time on one's hand = 某人沒有太多 / 極少的時間
Once in a blue moon = 少有的
【例句】
My sister lives in Alaska, so I only see her once in a blue moon.
我姐姐住在阿拉斯加，所以我很少看到她。

也可以用「not very often」或是 「rare」。
