大家都知道baby是指寶寶的意思，
但是be like taking candy from a baby、
throw the baby out with the bath water…
等包含baby的英文片語應該就不是這麼容易理解了，
因此Engoo小編為大家整理了8個和嬰幼兒有關的單字，

have a bun in the oven 懷孕
bun是指小圓麵包，而oven則是烤箱的意思，
英文中用烤箱裡的小圓麵包來比喻母親肚子裡的孩子，
因此have a bun in the oven其實是懷孕的意思。
【例句】
Mom, we have exciting news to tell you. Gina has a bun in the oven!
媽，我們有一件令人興奮的消息要告訴你。Gina懷孕了！
babe in the woods 沒有經驗的人
woods指的是森林的意思，一個小孩冒冒失失的闖入森林裡，
想必沒有意識到森林裡的危險性，
因此就用babe in the woods來形容毫無經驗、容易上當，或是像小孩般天真的人。
【例句】
When it comes to starting a business, we are all babes in the woods.
說到創業，我們都是毫無經驗的人。
born on the wrong side of the blanket 私生子
字面上的意思是出生在毛毯錯誤的一端，
這其實是比較委婉的方式說明未婚父母所生的孩子。
【例句】
Believe it or not, Mr.Lin’s oldest boy was born on the wrong side of the blanket.
信不信由你，林先生的大兒子是私生子。
a (real) chip off the old block (性格、行為等) 酷似父母親的人
chip指的是碎屑，block則是木塊的意思，
脫離木塊的木屑是用來比喻性格、行為、長相或是興趣酷似父母的人，
此說法一開始是來自a chip of the same block，
表示來自同一個家族的兩個人，後來才演變出現在這個說法。
【例句】
Like his father, John has a talent for music – a chip off the old block.
就像他父親，John同樣在音樂上很有天賦，
like taking candy from a baby 很容易
從小孩的手中拿走他的糖果，用此說法來比喻一件很容易達成的事。
【例句】
Answering your question is like taking candy from a baby.
回答你這個問題就像從小孩手裡搶糖吃一樣容易。
like a kid in a candy store 對周圍的事物非常高興、激動
糖果應該是大部分小孩都非常喜歡的東西，
因此來到糖果店裡的小孩想必對周圍的事物都會感到非常興奮與激動。
【例句】
Jessica was like a kid in a candy store when she arrived at the National Palace Museum.
Jessica抵達故宮時就像到了糖果店的孩子一樣興奮。
sleep like a baby 睡得像寶寶一樣甜
睡得像寶寶一樣甜，用來形容人睡得很好、很安穩，
相似的說法還有"sleep like a log"，log指的是圓木，
一個人在床上像圓木一樣，一動也不動的安睡，也是代表睡得很好的意思。
【例句】
Kelvin sleeps like a baby every night.
Kelvin每晚都睡得像寶寶一樣香甜。
throw the baby out with the bath water 把重要東西一起丟掉
baby在此說法裡代表重要的事物，
而bath water洗澡水則是本來就會倒掉的東西，
因此一般會用"Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water."
提醒人不要不小心把重要的東西連同不重要的一起丟掉了。
【例句】
Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water when you’re deleting the old files on my computer.
你在刪我電腦裡的舊檔案時，可不要不小心也把重要的東西刪了。
