Play it by ear 見機行事
play it by ear 本意表示不看樂譜，用耳朵聽音樂，並將之演奏出來。
因此延伸為「見機行事」。
【例句】
It is almost impossible to predict what will happen next. Let’s play it by ear.
要預測接下來會發生的事是幾乎不可能的。我們就見機行事吧。
Play second fiddle 居於次要地位；副手
在一般管弦樂團中，小提琴會被分為兩個聲部，
而小提琴第一部通常是負責樂曲主旋律，
小提琴第二部則是負責和聲或配合的副旋律線。
因此，play second fiddle 便被延伸為次要地位、替身或副手等意思。
【例句】
The new idol is talented and vowed not to play second fiddle to any others.
這個新偶像很有才華，誓言絕不當其他任何偶像的替身。
Pull out all the stops 全力以赴，竭盡所能
Stop 在管風琴的構造中代表的是「音栓」，
而每個音管都有相對應的音栓。當拉出音栓時，
發出特殊音頻和音色的音管便會發出聲音。
因此，倘若將所有的音栓都拉出，便會有齊聲共鳴的效果。
