【用英文怎麼說】亂闖馬路、闖紅燈、被開罰單、酒駕要怎麼說？交通違規相關的英文介紹！

身處在交通如此發達的社會，你知道常見的交通違規行為，

像是超速、闖紅燈，要怎麼用英文說嗎？如果還不熟悉，

就來看看今天的主題介紹吧！

交通違規行為(violate a traffic law or regulation)

1. drunk driving

也可稱作DUI (Driving under the influence) 、DWI (driving while intoxicated)(n.) 酒駕

under the influence表示受...的影響，這裡所指的影響是酒精，代表在酒精的影響下開車。

intoxicated表示喝醉的

2. hit-run driver (n.) 肇事逃逸

3. jaywalking (n.) (行人)闖紅通

4. running a red light (n.) (交通工具)闖紅燈

4. illegal parking (n.) 違規停車

5. speeding (n.) 超速

6. wrong-way driving (WWD) (n.) 逆向行駛

也有口語用法ghost driving

7. driving without a license (n.) 無照駕駛

違規時會遇到的處理方式

1. to be fined (v.) 開罰

【例句】

He was fined NT5000 for exceeding the speed limit.

他因為超速而被開罰新台幣5000元。

2. one’s driver license gets revoked/suspended (v.) 駕照吊銷(永遠/暫時)

revoke代表的是撤銷、廢除，永遠無法再拿回駕照，但是suspend只是暫時的吊銷，未來仍有機會取回駕照。

【例句】

Could you take me to the airport? My driver license was revoked, which means I can’t drive anymore.

你可以載我去機場嗎？我的駕照被吊銷了，也就是說我不能再開車了。

3. take a breathalyzer (v.) 酒測

【例句】

Since you say you are sober, then why don’t you take a breathalyzer and prove to me?

既然你說你沒喝醉，那為何不接受酒測來證明給我看？

<補充>

sober (a.) 清醒的，沒喝醉的

sobriety test (n.) 酒測

breathalyzer (n.)酒測器

4. tow (v.) 拖吊

【例句】

You had better not pull over ,or your car might be towed away.

你最好不要停在路邊，否則你的車可能會被拖走。

5. pull over (v.) 臨檢；靠邊停車

pull over的意思是靠邊停車，當警察要你靠邊停車的時候，很可能就是要臨檢你了，因此後來也用來指臨檢。

【例句】

The police pulled me over and asked me to show my driving license.

警察要求臨檢並給他看我的駕照。

6. detain (v.) 拘留

【例句】

I have the right to detain you. Please cooperate with our investigation.

我有權利拘留你，請配合我們的調查。
