【常見搭配詞】哪些名詞後面要加to？ N + to 用法介紹和三十個範例（上）

「Ａ的Ｂ」在英文裡面有很多呈現方式，這種從屬關係中，
如果隸屬於某個生命體，
可以用所有格如my, your, his, her, our, their等，也可以使用名詞’s的用法表示；
如果是非生命體，則可以使用of，只是要注意A of B意思是B的A。
例如：
- 我的書 my books
- 媽媽的裙子 mom’s skirt
- 電影的名字 the title of the movie
但在英文裡面，
還有一類名詞在表達「A的B」時，搭配的介詞是“to”，
「名詞＋to⋯」意思是「⋯⋯的某名詞」，和of一樣語序在中文顛倒，
像是「問題的答案」我們不會翻譯成the answer of the question，
而是使用the answer to the question。
這種用法在英文裡不少，你或多或少都遇過，
但一定沒有整理過到底有多少名詞＋to的單字，

way是道路、方法，way to…就是通往⋯⋯的道路。
【例句】
He knows the fastest way to the office.
他知道去公司最快的方法。

As a result of Anna's phone battery being dead, she got lost on the way to the lake.
因為安娜的手機沒電了，她在去湖邊的路上迷路了。

road to和way to非常相似，
後面可以接想要抵達的目的地。
【例句】
After leaving the department store, she crossed the street and took the road to the train station.
在離開百貨公司後，她穿越馬路，往火車站的方向而去。
【例句】
The road to success is long and tiresome.
通往成功的道路漫長而枯燥。

【例句】
He described having the trip as opening the door to trouble.
他將這次旅行描述為打開通往麻煩的門。
【例句】
I am not sure whether this is the main door to the hospital or not.
我不確定這是不是醫院的大門。

trip to 後面多班接地點，場域、地名、國家等等。
【例句】
He must take a business trip to Singapore by this weekend.
他必須在這週末之前去新加坡出差。
【例句】
Her trip to Italy is the one and only time she has been out of the country.
義大利之行是她唯一出國的經驗。

visit to 拜訪⋯⋯
visit to和trip to一樣，後面多半接場域、地點、國家，
但除了這些地點外，visit to後面也會接人，
像是the visit to my doctor, a visit to his grandpa等等。
【例句】
My son paid a surprise visit to my lawyer.
我兒子突然拜訪了我的律師。

The CEO made a visit to the German branch.
CEO參觀了德國分公司。

key to ⋯⋯的關鍵／鑰匙
the key to…想必這個用法你不陌生吧？
後面可以接非常多的字詞，
像是key to success, key to a happy life等等。
當然，除了「⋯⋯的關鍵」外，
key to 也可以指實際的「⋯⋯的鑰匙」。
【例句】
The man in pink holds the key to the house.
渾身粉紅的男人握著房子的鑰匙。
【例句】
The key to success is to be ready from the start.
成功的關鍵就是從一開始就做好準備。

Organizing ideas altogether in different ways is the key to creativity.
用不一樣的方法將想法連結起來是創造力的關鍵。
