1. drop by
指的是短暫的停留、順道拜訪。
【例句】
Lisa is thinking if she needs to drop by the bakery to get some breakfast on her way to work.
Lisa正在思考他是否需要在去公司的路上，順便去麵包店買個早餐。
2. drop out
drop out是輟學、暫停上學，
也就是在你完成所有學業畢業之前就先停止去學校的意思。
【例句】
Timmy was forced to drop out of college because his family couldn’t afford the tuition anymore.
因為他的家人無法再負擔學費，Timmy被迫輟學。
3. drop away
意指力氣逐漸衰退，或是數量減少。
【例句】
With more and more competitors, the sales volume of the product has gradually dropped away.
面對越來越多的競爭者，這項產品的銷量逐漸下滑。
4. drop behind
和字面上的意思相同，代表落後某人的意思，
可以是賽跑、隊伍中真的落後別人，
也可以是比較抽象的落後，例如輸給某人。
【例句】
Despite the fact that the student drops behind most people in the class right now, his teacher still has high expectations for him.
儘管這個學生現在落後班上的多數人，他的老師對他還是有很高的期望。
5. drop through
意指沒有結果、最後什麼都沒有的意思！
【例句】
Unfortunately, it turned out that the project had dropped through. The client didn’t give us any responses.
不幸地是，看來專案告吹了，客戶並沒有給予任何回應。
6. drop off
drop off有三種意思，第一個意思是逐漸減少，和drop way類似，
另外還有把某人或某物接送到某個地方之後離開，
或是小睡片刻、打瞌睡的意思！
【例句】
The cost of sales has successfully dropped off! It seems that the strategy does work!
銷貨成本成功地減少了！看來這個策略確實是奏效了！
【例句】
The mother dropped her kids off at the supermarket and would be right back.
那個媽媽先將孩子們送到超級市場，馬上就會回來。
【例句】
The employee couldn’t help but drop off during the meeting because he burned the midnight oil last night.
那個員工忍不住在會議中打瞌睡，因為他昨晚熬夜。
7. drop around
around有轉圈的意思，
但是drop around卻是傳送或是突然拜訪某人的意思。
【例句】
Danny dropped around to see his fiancée on his way to work. He missed her so much and prepared a surprise gift for her.
Danny在工作的路上臨時去見未婚妻，他非常想她並且準備了一個驚喜禮物。
8. drop back
drop back是落回的意思，可以是實體上的落下，
像是球類，也有比較抽象的意思，例如落後或是價值的下跌。
【例句】
The ball dropped back to the floor and rolled to the corner of the room.
那個球落到地上，並且滾到房間的角落。
【例句】
Somehow the racing car started to drop back other rivals after the right turn.
不知為何地那輛賽車在右轉之後便開始落後其他對手。
