【英文文法】背起字根、字首、字尾，從此不用再死背單字！

很多人都會說，學英文的根本就是要背單字！
但卻老是背了又忘，忘了重背，
其實是因為我們平常都死背單字。
中文有部首，英文當然也有類似的概念，
例如： foresee（預見）就可以拆成 fore 和 see，
fore 可以聯想到 forehead（額頭），有往前的意思；
see 則是看，合在一起就是往前看，也就是預見啦！
在英文中我們稱為字根(root)、字首(prefix)、字尾(suffix)
今天，我們就來介紹一些簡單常見的字根，
幫助大家拆（猜）解單字，背單字能無往不利！
i / ig / il / im / in / ir / un / dis = not 否定／不
這些字首可以說是否定的入門款了，
通常會是這些字首加上一個本來的單字，形成否定的單字
im ＋ possible（可能的）= impossible 不可能的
What!? It's impossible!
什麼!? 這不可能吧！
in ＋ credible（可信的）= incredible 無法置信的、不可思議的
Did Sandy really cheat? That's incredible.
Sandy真的作弊嗎？真是無法置信。
其實要分辨什麼時候用 "im" 還是 "in" 其實很簡單，
如果否定後面接的單字開頭是需要閉起嘴巴發音的字母，
就使用 "im"，因為這樣比較好發音！
當然，如果像是 incredible 就使用 "in"。
ir ＋ regular（常規的）= irregular 不規則的
She keeps irregular hours. No wonder she looks so tired.
她作息不正常，難怪看起來那麼累。
un ＋ do（做）= undo 復原（可以理解成回復到沒做的狀態）
What's done cannot be undone.
覆水難收。
un ＋ able（能夠）= unable 無法、不能
I'm unable to answer this question.
我無法回答這個問題。
dis ＋ abled（健全的）= disabled 殘疾的
After the accident, he became disabled.
那場事故後，他終身殘疾。
co / col / com / con = together 一起／共同／相互
co ＋ worker（工作者）= coworker 同事
We are just coworkers. That's all.
我們只是同事，僅此而已。
col ＋ league（聯盟）= colleague 同事
She's my colleague.
她是我的同事。
con ＋ cord（繩、帶）= concord 和諧、一致
We and our neighbors live in concord.
我們和鄰居和睦相處。
in / im = in 裡面；ex = out 外面／former 之前
im ＋ migrate（遷移）= immigrate（移入）移民
They are immigrates in 1970s.
他們是七十年代的移民。
ex ＋ port（港口）= export 出口
Agriculture produce is the country's main exports.
這個國家主要出口為農產品。
ex ＋ boyfriend / girlfriend（男／女朋友）= ex-boyfriend / ex-girlfriend 前男友／前女友
Sam bumped into his ex-girlfriend at cafe.
Sam 在咖啡廳遇到前女友。
"ex" 也可以直接當作「前任」的意思喔！
re = back 回復／again 再
re ＋ cycle（循環）= recycle 回收（再循環）
Everyone should recycle the battery indeed.
大家都該確實回收電池。
re ＋ view（觀看）= review 複習（再看一次）
I have no time to review my English class.
我沒時間複習我的英文課。
英文的字根、字首、字尾有很多種，
無法在一篇部落個文章中涵蓋全部，
不過只要認識越多，背起單字可說是事半功倍！
