【英文大解析】怎麼用英文禮貌地問可不可以？行不行？從日常到正式場合徵求他人意見的方法

從日常到正式的場合，我們都會遇到需要詢問他人意見的時候，這一篇將解密如何用基本英文句式向他人徵詢意見。
日常詢問
我們先從一些基本日常的詢問單字和短語開始！

Can I pet your dog?
我可以摸摸你的狗嗎？
Is it OK if … ?
Is it OK if we turn the music up a little louder?
我們可以把音量調大聲一點嗎？
May … ?
May I have your name, please?
方便問你的大名嗎？
Do/Would you mind if … ?
Do you mind if I sit here?
你介意我坐這嗎？
Would you mind if we shared your picture on our social media channel?
你介意我們在社群媒體上分享你的照片嗎？
正式場合詢問
Would it be possible for … ?
Would it be possible for me to interview you for my school assignment?
因為學校作業需求，想問您是否能夠接受我的採訪？
Could I possibly … ?
Could I possibly borrow your pen for a moment?
我是否能夠借用一下你的筆？
Might I … ?
Might I ask you for restaurant recommendations near here?
我可以詢問你有推薦附近的哪間餐廳嗎？
給予許可的動詞
除了單純地詢問句型以外，以下動詞也可以應用在不同句式當中：
- Let
- Allow
- Permit
- Grant
這些單字意思相近，都是「給予某人做某事的許可」。它們之間唯一的區別在於正式的程度，"let" 是當中最不正式的，而 "permit" 和 "grant" 最正式。
My parents won't let me drive the family car until I pass my driver's test.
我的父母不讓我開家裡的車，除非我考過駕照。
The old man doesn't allow anyone to enter his private property.
這位老人不讓任何人進入他私人的土地。
Smoking is permitted only in special areas.
只有一些特定區域禁菸。
A gold membership grants access to exclusive privileges.
金等會員能夠享有獨家特權。
“let” 用法補充
使用 "let" 時，非生物的事物也可以當作主詞。
The program won't let me print the document. What's wrong?
這個程式不讓我印文件，是怎樣？
These special glasses let you look at the eclipse without damaging your eyes.
這種特殊眼鏡可以讓你觀賞日蝕，且不會對你的眼睛造成傷害。
雖然 "let" 後面通常都會有一個動作描述，但也可以只有一個代名詞在句尾。
Jane can't come out tonight because her mom won't let her.
Jane 今晚不能來，因為他媽媽不允許。
lets ＆ let’s 的差別
lets (沒有撇號) = "let" 簡單現在式的單數動詞
This pass lets you ride the bus as many times as you want in one week.
這個通行證讓你在一週可以無限搭乘公車。
Let's (有撇號) = "Let us," 表示「讓我們 ...」或「一起 ...」
Let's go out for dinner tonight.
我們今晚出去吃吧！
專業詢問同意
Authorize 授權、批准
Only senior members are authorized to enter this part of the building.
只有高級會員才可進入此區。
The junior employee was not authorized to speak to journalists about the matter.
這位資歷較淺的員工無權向記者談論這件事。
Agree to / Consent to 接受、允許
The client agreed to our price, so we have a deal.
客戶接受我們的價格，所以我們達成協議。
The actor consented to his image being used in the ad campaign.
這名演員允許他的照片用於這場活動的廣告。
"have someone's consent" 也是常用的句法。
Do I have your consent to begin the project?
你同意我開始這個項目嗎？
Get (someone’s) approval 得到某人的許可
We need to get our supervisor's approval of this budget before we can spend any money.
關於這個預算，我們需要得到上司的同意才能夠開始花錢。
I want to get my partner's approval before I make a decision.
在我決定之前，我想要先得到我伴侶的同意。
同意的俚語表達
Give the OK
"give" 是「給予」的意思，那給別人一個 "OK" 就表示同意囉！
Has the head office given us the OK to start construction?
總部同意我們開始施工了嗎？
(Get) the green light
路上交通號誌的綠燈表示可以通行，當我們說 "getting the green light" 就表示「可以執行」、「獲准」。
We're just waiting for the green light from the boss before we get started.
開始前，我們在等老闆開口說可以。
也可以用動詞形式 "green light" 表示獲准！
＊ light 動詞三態： lgiht-lit-lit
The project's been green lit, so let's begin.
這個計畫已經獲得許可了，所以我們可以開始了。
Blessing
"blessing" 這個單字為「祝福」，在國外求婚前，求婚的人會先徵求另一半家人的同意、祝福才會向另一半求婚，因此它也有表示同意的意思。
I know it's old-fashioned, but I want to get your father's blessing before we get married.
我知道這樣很古板，但我想要先得到你爸爸的祝福後再結婚。
Max has given us his blessing to use his equipment as long as necessary.
Max 同意在必要的時候可以使用他的器具。
在日常生活中，使用 "May I ...?" 或是 "Would you mind ...?" 來徵求別人的同意可以讓對方感受到你的禮貌。在正式場合當中使用正確的方式詢問意見，也能讓自己更加專業！
