Paint the town red 狂歡
Doja Cat 在幾年前出的《Paint The Town Red》應該很多人都有在滑短影音時聽到過，而這句片語就是「狂歡、瘋狂慶祝」的意思。
【例句】
We're going to paint the town red to celebrate our graduation.
我們要去狂歡慶祝畢業。
Red in the face 臉紅、尷尬
超級尷尬害羞的時候，臉就會脹紅，所以 “red in the face” 就是指極度羞愧、滿臉羞紅的樣子。
【例句】
Bryan was red in the face after tripping on the staircase.
Bryan 在樓梯上絆倒後滿臉羞紅。
See red 勃然大怒
【例句】
We need to clean up this mess fast or my parents will be seeing red.
我們要趕快整理乾淨，不然我爸媽會超生氣的。
In the red 負債、虧損、赤字
【例句】
The company has been in the red for months due to low sales.
公司因銷售量低落而連月虧損。
Green with envy 非常忌妒
中文裡說某人很忌妒會用「眼紅」，但英文是用綠色喔！
【例句】
Simon was green with envy at his colleague's promotion.
Simon 看同事升遷非常忌妒。
Give／Get the green light 給予／獲得許可
紅燈停、綠燈行，所以看到別人「給你綠燈」就是指批准、許可。
【例句】
We can't begin working until our boss gives us the green light.
在老闆批准前，我們沒辦法動工。
Once in a blue moon 千載難逢、百年一遇
非常罕見的事情，就像藍月一樣，千載難逢。
【例句】
I meet my childhood friends once in a blue moon.
我久久才和小時候的朋友見面一次。
Black and blue 遍體麟傷
瘀青過一段時間就會看起來黑黑藍藍的，所以 “black and blue” 就是指「鼻青臉腫、遍體麟傷」。
【例句】
Mark's face was black and blue after the fight.
Mark 打了一架，弄得自己鼻青臉腫的。
In the black 盈利
和 “in the red” 相反， “in the black” 是指賺很多、有盈利的狀況。
【例句】
After several months of being in debt, we're now back in the black with healthy growth.
在連續負債好幾個月後，我們終於有盈餘並保持穩健增長。
The new black 極為流行、新時尚
【例句】
For fashionistas, green is the new black this season.
對時尚達人而言，綠色是這季最流行的顏色。
For this generation, 80's-style pop music is the new black.
對這個世代來說，80年代流行音樂是當前最流行的。
Tickled pink 非常開心
【例句】
She was tickled pink when she received a surprise gift from her friend.
她收到朋友送的禮物時超級開心。
Wave the white flag 舉白旗投降
【例句】
We can't wave the white flag; we have to keep on fighting!
我們不能投降放棄，一定要繼續努力！
