描述一個人認真做事的時候，我們會說 "Someone worked hard."，
在這裡work是動詞，hard是副詞，用以描述work很認真，
我們也會把work hard以hardworking的型態，作為形容詞形容人很努力勤奮，
像是「Someone is hardworking at school. 」這樣的用法，
除了hardworking之外，今天要再介紹十個，
也是描述「認真刻苦」的英文單字！
diligent 認真刻苦的；勤奮的
diligent可以後面搭配名詞，像是：
diligent work 勤奮的工作
diligent research 潛心研究
diligent student 用功的學生
此外，diligent慣用搭配in與about
我們可以說 "sb is diligent in sth."
【例句】
She was diligent in pursuit of a degree.
她努力取得學位。
persevering 鍥而不捨的；堅持不懈的
persevering這個單字可以由動詞去記憶名詞，
persevere本身是動詞，代表努力、堅持不懈做某事（+ in/with）
所以persevering就是鍥而不捨的、堅持不懈的。
【例句】
He is more persevering and more determined than his parents.
和他的父母比起來，他更加努力不懈，並且能果斷做決定。
indefatigable 努力不懈的；不屈不撓的
如果覺得indefatigable太長很難記的話，可以先把這個單字拆解：
fatigue是疲勞，可以作為動詞或名詞，
fatigable的意思是容易疲勞的，
所以indefatigable的努力是不懈怠、不停止，並且維持一段時間的。
【例句】
The boss always wants an indefatigable laborer who can work from sunrise to sunset.
老闆總是想要一個可以從白天努力不懈工作到晚上的員工。
tireless 不知疲倦的；努力不懈的
tire作為動詞的時候，意思是疲倦，
常見的形容詞型態是tired 疲倦的，
而tire 加上表示缺乏的字尾「less」則是不知疲倦的；不懈的。
【例句】
She has been a tireless advocate for reform.
她是一個努力於改革的倡議者。
unflagging 永不削減的；持久的
flag最常見的意思是旗幟以及動詞標記，
但除了這兩個之外，還有衰減、疲倦的意思，
所以unflagging就是不會衰減的、不疲倦的。
常見的搭配詞像是：
unflagging interest 堅定的興趣
unflagging energy 精力充沛
unflagging enthusiasm 不懈的熱情
【例句】
He thanked his wife for her unflagging support.
他感謝老婆對他無止盡的支持。
assiduous 專心致志的；勤勉的
assiduous除了勤勉努力之外，還帶有專心、專注於某件事的意思，
描述某人、某組織致力於某事，慣用搭配assiduous in sth
也經常用assiduous描述名詞。
像是：
assiduous planning 認真的計畫
assiduous research 專心致志的研究
assiduous efforts 刻苦的努力

The final project needs more assiduous efforts.
期末計畫需要更多的努力。
【例句】
The researchers have been assiduous in the economic issues.
這些研究學者致力於經濟議題。
conscientious 認真專心的；盡責的
conscientious比較像是盡力於自己本分內、職責內的事情
常見的搭配像是：
conscientious student 認真的學生
conscientious listener 專心的聽眾
conscientious public servant 盡責的國家公僕
【例句】
He always stands with people. He is a conscientious public servant.
他總是與人民站在一起，他是個盡責的公僕。
industrious 勤奮的；勤勞的
industrious描述一個人是勤勞、認真努力的，
可以接：
industrious worker 勤奮的員工
industrious leader 勤奮的領導者
industrious volunteer 勤勞的志工
【例句】
Despite he was an industrious worker, he just got the minimum wage.
儘管他是一個勤勞的員工，但他只領著最低薪資。
sedulous 努力的；細心的
sedulous的意思是小心謹慎，並且做很多努力。
【例句】
She is an impressively sedulous student. Every teacher remembers her.
她是一個讓人印象深刻的勤奮學生，每個老師都記得她。
studious 勤於學習的
studious源自於動詞study，
所以studious的認真努力經常是用來形容學習方面的認真努力，
可以搭配的詞彙像是：
studious environment 益於學習的環境
studious effort 勤奮認真
studious child 好學的孩子
【例句】
There is no doubt that he is a studious child.
毫無疑問的，他是一個勤於學習的孩子。
