吵輸別人是一回事，英文可不能輸給別人！
pissing contest
piss是小便，直接翻譯就是”尿尿比賽”，
意指互相挑釁、毫無意義的較量，
是比較粗俗的用法，常用於男性之間。
例句：
John and Jimmy got into a pissing contest again.
The teacher even didn’t want to stop them from fighting.
John和Jimmy又開始進到無意義的爭吵了，老師甚至不想要阻止他們了。
dirty look
別誤會了，這可不是看起來很髒的樣子！
其實是指人的臉很臭，一臉不屑或是不認同的樣子！
例句：
The little boy gave his mother a dirty look when they argued about the political issue.
那個小男孩在和他媽媽討論政治議題時，露出了不認同的神情。
throw elbows
elbow是手肘，把手肘丟出去，在中文的意思就比較接近摩拳擦掌，
準備要來打一架！看起來相當有侵略性。
例句：
It seems that we have to throw elbows and show who is the boss here!
看起來我們似乎要讓他們瞧瞧，誰才是這裡的老大！
have a chip on one’s shoulder
chip是洋芋片，也有木塊的意思，
因此這個片語用來形容某人的心裡有疙瘩，
或心裡有根刺，也就是耿耿於懷！
例句：
Even though he denied it, apparently he has got a chip on his shoulder
about the promotion of his best friend.
儘管他否認，很顯然他因為摯友的升遷而感到耿耿於懷。
at each other’s throats
throat是喉嚨，字面翻譯是在對方的喉嚨上，衍伸為激烈的爭吵。
例句：
The father and the son are at each other’s throats,
arguing about the family trip next month.
那個父親跟兒子正為了下個月的家庭旅行大動肝火。
give someone a piece of your mind
乍看之下好像是個很浪漫的英文用法，
那你可就大錯特錯了！它指的是嚴厲地斥責某人。
例句：
It’s ridiculous for the company to fire employees for no reason.
I will report to the police and give it a piece of my mind.
公司無故解雇員工是荒謬的。我將會報警並且嚴厲地斥責公司。
have it out with someone
有爭吵，當然也有和好的時候，
接下來要介紹給大家的就是「把話說開」，也是相當實用哦！
例句：
The tension between Eric and Joanna has been a while.
They should have it out with each other and solve the problem.
Eric和Joanna之間的衝突已經持續一陣子了。他們應該要出來談談並解決問題。
add insult to injury
injury是受傷，insult是侮辱，已經受傷了卻持續的羞辱，
也就是中文的雪上加霜，在傷口上灑鹽！
例句：
It was definitely not Lisa’s day today. She failed the test and to add insult to injury,
she missed the last bus back home.
今天對Lisa而言是非常倒楣的一天，她考試不及格，更慘的是她錯過回家的末班車。
