養成習慣將不同詞性的近義單字聯想在一起，便能舉一反三！

希望藉由這篇文章拋磚引玉，鼓勵大家背新單字同時聯想其他詞性，背單字事半功倍！

represent (v. )代表 

【例句】

They represented the committee to attend the meeting.

他們代表委員會參加會議。

representation (n.) 代表 

【例句】

The dove is a symbolic representation of peace.

鴿子是和平的象徵。

representative (adj.) 有代表性的 

【例句】

The teacher’s opinions aren’t representative of the students’.

老師的意見不代表學生的想法。

appetite (n)食慾、胃口

【例句】

The medicine may cause loss of appetite. 藥物可能會讓人食慾不振。

appetizing (adj.) 開胃的

【例句】

Sour food is very appetizing in the summer.

酸酸的食物讓人在夏天胃口大開。

appetizer (n.) 開胃菜

A full three-course meal includes appetizer, main course and desert.

一頓全份西餐包含開胃菜、主菜和甜點。

defend (v.) 防衛 

The soldiers’ duty is to defend our country.

軍人的職責是捍衛我們的國家。

defense (n.) 防禦 

The police shot the criminal in self-defense.

警察出於自衛對罪犯開槍。

defensive (adj.) 防禦性的 

Defensive weapons should not be used for attack.

防禦性武器不該用來進攻。
