【同義字】走路只會用walk嗎？教你不同走路方式的英文單字！

走路有很多種描述方式，除了最簡單的walk之外，

也有很多其他不同的講法喔！現在就趕快跟Engoo一起學習吧！

 

一、走

ramble漫步

【例句】

I like to ramble around in the country.

我喜歡在鄉間漫步。

stroll散步

【例句】

We stroll along the river.

我們在河邊散步。

plod沈重的走

【例句】

The explorers plod wearily to the top of the hill.

探險家拖著沈重的步伐登上山。

pace踱步

【例句】

The man was pacing nervously at the corridor due to the coming interview later.

這位男子因為待會的面試緊張得在走廊間踱步。

strut昂首闊步

【例句】

The models were strutting along the catwalk.

模特兒有自信地走在伸展台臺上。

stride大步走

【例句】

The student strode onto the platform to give a speech.

這位學生大步走上講台演講。

march邁進

【例句】

The troops marched by the platform.

軍隊從平台旁齊步走過。

tiptoe踮起腳走；躡手躡腳地走

【例句】

The thief tiptoed into the store in order to steal things.

小偷為了偷東西，躡手捏腳地走進商店。

 

二、跑

rush衝；奔

【例句】

For fear of being late, Jessica rushed to the train station.

為了不遲到，Jessica用跑的到火車站。

sprint奮力衝刺

【例句】

In order to win the prize, Jim did his utmost to sprint to the finishing line.

為了贏得獎項，Jim使出他全身的力氣衝到終點線。

 

三、徘徊

loiter遊蕩

【例句】

Do not loiter on your way to school, otherwise you might be late.

不要在你去學校的路上遊蕩，否則你可能會遲到。

stray迷路

【例句】

A policeman took the old man who had strayed in the park home.

警察帶那名在公園迷路的老先生回家。

 

四、艱難地走

hobble跛行

【例句】

The old man hobbled along the street with the aid of his stick.

這名老先生拄著拐杖在街上蹣跚地走著。

limp跛行

【例句】

With one leg hurt, Patrick limped（跛行）home.

Patrick拖著一隻受傷的腿一拐一拐地走回家。

<補充> hobble v.s limp

hobble通常是在描述一個人走路的步態不穩，看起來走得有點糟糕的樣子。

limp則是比較明確說明一個人因為腳受傷所以走路不穩的樣子。

 

stagger蹣跚

【例句】

I saw a man who was drunk staggering on the street.

我看到一名醉漢在街上蹣跚而行。

stumble絆倒

【例句】

The girl was stumbled by the stone on the floor.

女孩被地上的石頭絆倒。

trudge跋涉；艱難地走

【例句】

He trudged five hours in the heavy rain to get back home.

他在大雨中跋涉五個小時才回到家。
