【英文作文】英文作文必備 常用連接詞總整理Part 1
多數人在面對英文寫作時，應該都十分頭痛吧！不知道如何下筆、開頭、收尾。
不論是準備學測、指考、托福甚至在職場，我們都有越來越多需要透過英文表達自己意見的機會。
首先，小編要先澄清一個觀念，一篇好的文章，絕對不是「使用艱澀、生硬的字彙、構句複雜、長篇大論」。
想要寫出一篇優秀的英文作文，不外乎是文章脈絡清晰、用字精確（但是這不代表要用生硬的單字！）。
首先，就來解決邏輯性的問題吧！妥善使用連接詞能夠讓文章內容前後呼應、條理分明，
讀者也會比較容易瞭解你想表達的意思。話不多說，趕緊進入主題吧！

【例句】
That woman looks really pretty. Furthermore, she has a kind heart.
那個女人除了長得很漂亮之外，還擁有一顆善良的心。
Andy was dumped by his girlfriend recently. What’s worse, he was laid off by his employer.
Andy最近被他女友給甩了。更糟的是，他還被老闆炒魷魚。
Additionally, / In addition, + 子句
In addition to +名詞(n.)或動名詞(Ving)
[例句]
I like to eat cakes. Additionally, I enjoy having ice cream as well.
= In addtion to cakeas, I enjoy ice cream as well.
除了蛋糕之外，我也喜歡吃冰淇淋。
First (of all)/Firstly/Second/Secondly/In the second place/Next
[例句]
Firstly, it is my pleasure to have an opportunity to have an interview with you.
Secondly, I would like to know if you have reached the decision of the position of the internship.
首先，與您面試是我的榮幸。再來，我希望知道您是否已經決定此實習職缺的人選。
Again

Again, I like to put emphasis on this issue.
我想要再次強調這個議題。
Contrast 對照、對比
用途：描述兩相異的觀念及想法
尤其適用於各類考試中，當題目希望你發表個人意見時，
我們又不希望全然偏頗某個論點時，可以運用下列連接詞來帶出相異的想法。
Yet/However/Nevertheless/Nonetheless 然而

She burned the midnight oil yesterday to study for the midterm exam. Yet, she still failed the test.
儘管她昨晚挑燈夜戰複習這次的期中考。她還是考得不好。
Otherwise, 否則（不然的話）

You should devote yourself more to preparing for the final.
Otherwise, it is very likely that you will flunk this subject.
你必須投入更多心力準備期末，否則，你這個科目很可能會被當。
After all, 畢竟

Be nice to your sister. After all, she is older than you.

On the contrary, / In contrast, 相反地

Teacher John is really patient to his students. On the contrary, teacher Jenny does not pay much attention on her class.
John老師對他的學生十分有耐心。相反地，Jenny老師並沒有十分關心她的班級。
but / though 但是 （通常置於句中）

I know John, but I don’t understand him.
我認識John，但我不太瞭解他。

你永遠不會摸透John在想什麼。
On the one hand, … On the other hand, …一方面，另一方面
[例句]
On the one hand, I'd like a higher-paying job, on the other hand, I enjoy the work I'm doing at the moment.
一方面我想要一份薪水更高的工作，但另一方面我也喜歡現在的工作。
Intensification 加強語氣
用途：加強寫作語氣，更加肯定文章中的論述
適當地運用以下連接詞，能使讀者感受到你對於題目的堅定態度。
Indeed, / In fact, / As a matter of fact, 的確、事實上

Indeed, I do not like math at all.
說實話，我一點也不喜歡數學。
certainly 的確
[例句]
You certainly have the qualifications to be the manager of that company.
你的確有資格擔任那間公司的經理。
Without a doubt, / Undoubtedly, / of course / Surely, / By all means, 無庸置疑地、當然地
[例句]
Undoubtedly, you should take the responsibility.
毋庸置疑地，你必須負起責任。
Cause and effect 因果關係
用法：表示前後內容是有因果關係的論述
Therefore, / Consequently, / Thus, / Hence, / As a result, 因此

I did not arrive at the bus stop on time. Consequently, I was late for the class.
我沒有準時抵達巴士站牌。所以我上課遲到了。
Accordingly, / According to + N. 根據
