【考試英文】106指考英文大剖析

一年一度的大學入學指定科目考試結束囉～

第一大題、詞彙：

1.Martha has been trying to ______ her roommate since their quarrel last week, as she doesn’t want to continue the argument.

（自從他們吵架之後，瑪莎一直試著避開她的室友，因為她不想再繼續吵下去）

(A) overgrow 生長過快 (B) bother 打擾 (C) pursue 追求 (D) avoid 避開；避免

這題文意完全不難，

應該沒有太大爭議，

這邊小編幫大家補充一下avoid跟prevent都有「避開的意思」

但用法有所差異：

► avoid避開（某人事物）；避免（去做某事）

► prevent阻止（某人去做某事）；預防、防止（某事發生） (prevent...from Ving)

The most important task for every parent is to prevent the children from getting hurt.

每個家長的首要任務就是預防孩子受傷。

2.Peter has never been on time to meetings or appointments. It would be interesting to look into reasons why he is ______ late.

不管是開會還是有約，彼得從來就沒有準時過。如果可以研究看看他為何習慣性遲到一定很有趣。

(A) chronically長期地；慢性地 (B) hysterically 歇斯底里地 (C) simultaneously 同時地 (D) resistantly 反抗地

從題目中的"never"可以推敲出彼得是長期以來都不準時，

而選項中有「長期、習慣性地」的字就是 (A) 選項，

大家常常聽到的「慢性病」的英文就是chronic disease。

3. The film Life of Pi won Ang Lee an Oscar in 2013 for Best Director—one of the most ______ awards in the movie industry.

（李安以《少年Pi的奇幻旅程》贏得了2013年奧斯卡最佳導演—再電影業最令人垂涎的獎項之一。）

(A) populated 居住 (B) surpassed 超越 (C) coveted 渴望 (D) rotated 旋轉

是不是不少學員聯想到"popular"（受歡迎的）就以為答案是A選項呢？

這樣就掉入陷阱了哦！

covet「渴望」的意思，

變成p.p.時態就變成形容詞「令人貪圖、渴望的」。

第二大題、綜合測驗：

1. According to French officials, the measure aims to ______ the glorification of dangerously thin models.

（根據紐約當局，此措施是為了不讓過瘦模特兒成為被歌頌的對象。）

(A) put up with 忍受 (B) crack down on 打破 (C) give in to 讓步 (D) look out for 提防

這題一口氣考了四個片語，

就是要考驗大家平時有沒有認真在背單字！

這邊小編幫大家補充一下(C)選項其他跟give相關的片語。

相信有不少粗心大意的學員看到"medical"就選了(D)選項對吧？

但是要注意後面的形容詞子句說的是這個東西可以證明模特兒是身體健康的，

學員們有選對嗎？

3. Enzymes consist of various types of proteins that work to drive the chemical reactions ______ for certain types of nutrients to take effect.

（酵素是由促進特定營養素發揮作用之化學反應的多種蛋白質所組成。）

(A) requires (B) required (C) requiring (D) to require

這題的句子很長，

看到這種題目不用害怕，

小編的訣竅是「找出主要子句＋善用括號及箭頭」

把句子分成這樣看：

Enzymes consist of various types of proteins 〔that work to drive the chemical reactions〕〔______ for certain types of nutrients to take effect.〕

句型這樣就清楚了許多，

enzymes是主詞，

句子到proteins就結束的話其實也是完整的S+V+O句子，

第一個括號是由that所帶領的proteins的形容詞子句，

其實句子如果就在reaction結束，也是完整的句子，

由這點可以推敲出底線開始之後的那句話都可以省略或是必須是形容詞子句，

而從文意來看，後面那段話是要補充「對於營養素的發揮，此種化學反應是必須的」

答案就呼之欲出了吧！

第三大題、綜合測驗：

(A) provokes 挑起

(B) exotic 異國風情的

(D) dates back 追溯

(E) refreshed 使...清新；更新

(F) implies 暗示

(G) appetizing 開胃的

(H) mixture 混合

(I) goes by 過去

(J) unchanged 沒有改變的

(K) challenge 挑戰

(L) favor 幫助；偏袒

1. Instead of being white with a bright orange yolk, the jelly-like egg takes on a less __Ｇ__ dark brown and swampy green hue.

（跟一般白色蛋白淺橘蛋黃的蛋不同，這種像果凍一般的蛋的外表是較令人提不起胃口的沼澤綠色調的深咖色。）

這題不難，考的就是形容詞，

小編額外幫大家補充兩個appetizing的相關單字：

appetite (n.) 胃口

appetizer (n.) 開胃菜

另外，句子中的take on不是「承擔」的意思，

代表的是「呈現...的顏色」

《例句》The insect takes on the color of its surroundings.

這種昆蟲隨環境改變顏色。

中翻英：
