storm out of~ 氣沖沖地離開
“storm” 本身有「風暴、暴風雨」的意思，當我們說某人 “storm out of somewhere” 的時候， 代表那個人心情很差、怒氣沖沖地離開，像暴風雨一樣席捲離去。
【例句】
After the argument, she stormed out of the meeting room without saying a word.
爭吵過後，她一言不發氣沖沖地離開會議室。
under the weather 生病
千萬別以為是在天氣下面， under the weather (= sick) 代表一個人生病、不舒服，這個片語非常實用，下次生病可以試著換成這句話！
【例句】
I need to take a day off today. I’m feeling under the weather.
我今天需要請假一天，我感覺有點不舒服。

weather that storm 闖過難關
“weather” 除了天氣的意思，也可作動詞表示「撐過、平安度過」。所以 “weather the storm” 意思是「撐過暴風雨」。
【例句】
Despite the lack of financial support, the small family business managed to weather the storm and come out stronger.
儘管缺乏資金支持，這家小型家族企業仍順利度過難關且更加強大。

get wind of 知道（標題三）
get wind of (= find out) 意思為「發現、知道」，意近中文的「聽到風聲」。
【例句】
The police got wind of the illegal drug deal.
警察已經聽到這起違法毒品交易的風聲了。
I don't want my boss to get wind of the fact that I'm leaving.
我不想讓老闆知道我要離職。
She got wind of the birthday party because someone made a slip of the tongue.
因為某人說溜嘴，所以她知道我們在準備她的生日趴了。

made a slip of the tongue = let slip/let something slip out 說溜嘴
rain on someone’s parade 潑冷水
“parade” 是「遊行」的意思，這個片語如果照字面翻譯還蠻好猜的，當某人在舉辦遊行時，你澆了一盆水下去，樓下遊行的人心情會整個被你打壞：（

I hate to rain on your parade, but your plans are all wrong.
我不想潑你冷水，但你的計劃是全錯的。
When the football club wins the league, fans will hold a victory parade for them and chant.
足球俱樂部贏得聯賽時，球迷會為他們舉行一場勝利遊行、唱歌慶祝。

take a rain check 更改行程
這句也很有趣，不是叫你去查隔天會不會下雨， 而是把原先的約定往後移、改期的意思，如同 “reschedule”。
【例句】
Sorry, I have a meeting tomorrow, so I have to take a rain check.
抱歉，我明天有個會要開，所以下次再約。
I'll take a rain check on that drink tonight, if that's all right.
如果可以的話，今晚的酒局改下次好了。
the calm before the storm 暴風雨前的寧靜
叫別人冷靜會說 “calm down”，但暴風雨前的寧靜卻有種不祥的預感。這句話用以形容「在壞事發生前異常安靜的情況」， 感覺有人在準備放大招。
【例句】
The office was unusually quiet that morning. It felt like the calm before the storm.
辦公室那天早上異常安靜，感覺像是暴風雨前的寧靜。
What happened between the couple? The vibe is awkward, like the lull before the storm.
這對情侶之間發生什麼事？氣氛很怪，很像暴風雨前的寧靜。
【補充】
“the lull before the storm” 意思也是「暴風雨前的寧靜」，“lull” 本身的意思為「平靜時期」。
on cloud nine 開心
這個片語不是在九號雲上面， 而是指一個人心情好到飛上雲端，開心得不得了！！
【例句】
When I got my promotion, I was on cloud nine.
當我知道我升官時，我超開心！

在塞爾維亞有一種說法是 “biti na sedmom nebu”，直譯成英文為 “on the seventh sky”，與英文 “on seventh heaven” 都表示像置身天堂一樣快樂、開心至極。
steal his/her thunder 搶走目光
“thunder” 唸起來和閃電的聲音有點像，而意思也是「閃電」。
閃電閃過通常都會有一道白光， 伴隨著轟隆隆的巨大聲響， 這句話依字面翻譯為把一個人的閃電偷走， 但意思其實是指「搶走他人目光」
【例句】
If you dress in white to a wedding, you will steal the bride’s thunder.
如果你穿白色的衣服參加婚體，你會把新娘的目光搶走。
最後猜猜看 “take … by storm” 是什麼意思？
take ... by storm 强烈感染、攻占某處
被風暴帶走？這句話的意思就是像風暴一樣「席捲」某個地方啦！
【例句】
Lady Gaga’s new album took the music industry by storm.
Lady Gaga 的新專輯席捲了整個音樂產業。
The new Netflix K-pop animation took the world by storm.
Netflix 新的韓流動畫席捲全世界。
