【主題單字】看演唱會也出事？！偷吃不只有 cheat on 可以說，婚外情、有小三還有這 8 種說法！

最近在 Coldplay 演唱會意外揭發一段婚外情，此事件告誡大家外遇記得偷偷來就好（？）不然見光死後，不只賠上人品，還賠上工作。但最好就是不要亂出軌啦！
回歸正軌，如果你不想再說 cheat on，這次教你其他婚外情的講法！
have an affair 外遇
名詞 “affair” 有「事務、事情」的意思，如：financial affairs 財務、foreign affairs 外交。相反地，在 “have an affair” 當中則有另一個意思，意為「私通、性關係」。
【例句】
Rich people usually employ an accountant to manage their financial affairs.
有錢人通常會雇用一位會計師來管理他們的財務。
Our company’s CEO was caught on camera having an affair with our manager.
我們公司的執行長被拍到他和我們的經理外遇。
fool around 婚內與他人曖昧
“fool” 作動詞時有「愚弄、欺騙」之意；介系詞 “around” 表示「四周」的意思。隱瞞已婚伴侶和別人關係曖昧，把周圍的人耍得團團轉，就是 “fool around”。
【例句】
We call him a “married Romeo” because he has been fooling around with his coworkers.
我們都叫他「已婚大情聖」，因為他和他同事間的關係曖昧不清。
【補充】雖然在 Romeo and Juliet 裡的 Romeo 很浪漫專情，但這個名字也可以用來指稱他人為「情聖」。
liaison 婚外情
由法文而來的名詞 “liaison” 原意為「聯絡、溝通」或是「聯絡官」。但是聯絡好幾種，有種不道德的聯絡，俗稱「婚外情」就可以用這個字。
【例句】
The project manager believes that the lack of liaison between departments is the root cause of this issue.
專案經理認為這個問題的根源是部門間缺乏溝通。
Although she has a loving family, she has had numerous romantic liaisons with married men over the years.
雖然她的家庭幸福美滿，但多年來她仍是與數名已婚男士發生婚外情。
a bit on the side 婚外情
“a bit on the side” 是一種英式表達；美國的小三為 “side chick” 或 “side piece”，前者較多人使用。
【例句】
She knows her husband has a bit on the side because he’s always looking at his phone with a simpering smile recently.
她知道她丈夫有小三，因為他最近總是邊看手機邊傻笑。
The main chick went to confront the side chick. She’s ready for war.
那位正宮跑去找小三對質，她已經準備好要開戰了。
【補充】有 “side chick” 就會有正宮，而正宮的英文會用 “main chick” 來表示， “main” 意為「主要的」。
unfaithful 不忠
形容詞 “faithful” 為「忠實的、忠誠的」，加上字首 “un-” 意思則為相反。
【例句】
She can be unfaithful to her partner, but won’t tolerate it if he does the same. She has a double standard.
她認為自己可以對伴侶不忠，但不可以接受對方這樣做。她根本雙標。
extramarital 婚外的
“marital” 的意思是「婚姻的」，超過婚姻的就是 “extramarital”。所以婚外情也可以用 “an extramarital affair” 來表示。
【例句】
Extramarital affairs are unforgivable in a healthy marriage.
在一段健康的婚姻當中，婚外情無法被原諒。
前面介紹的單字與用法多使用於「已婚關係」，以下兩個用法適用於任何一種關係：
play the field 亂搞、腳踏多條船
“field” 為「場地」之意，這邊我們暫且將這個字解釋為「戀愛修羅場」，“play the field” 意思就是在戀愛修羅場上大玩特玩、吃很開、腳踏多條船 。
【例句】
Some people get into situationships, knowing they’re both just playing the field.
某些人進入似愛非愛的親密關係裡，且都知道對方並不專一。
two-timer 腳踏兩條船的人
英文字尾加上 “-er” 即可表示「人」。同樣地，在動詞 “two-time” 後面加上 “-er” 意思為「腳踏兩條船、劈腿的人」。
【例句】
I didn’t want to break up with him until I saw the evidence that he was two-timing me.
我本來不想要和他分手，直到我看到他劈腿的證據。
Everyone knows she is a professional two-timer and gold digger. Very toxic.
大家都知道她是職業劈腿慣犯和拜金女。超有毒。
【補充】「拜金女」的英文為 “gold digger”，原意為「掏金客」。
在一夫一妻制當中，外遇、曖昧都很可惡，因為這代表著破壞承諾、瓦解信任。在一段關係當中誠實很重要，所以在開始新一段關係時，記得先處理好現有的關係，避免兩敗俱傷。
