Hello! My name is Shari. I hold a BA in Design and previously worked as a costume designer for theatre and films in Vancouver.
I have been tutoring English for years in classrooms in Canada, Indonesia, and Taiwan, plus online for the past several years. My diverse professional background also includes working as a manager, trainer, and journalist in the spa industry. I am a published author on Amazon, including a children's book.
I love watching my students succeed! My hobbies include swimming, traveling, walking on the beach with my dog, and playing Scrabble with friends. I also love animals and have a dog, three cats, and two turtles.

She doesn't seem like a typical teacher. She's passive in class and doesn't actively guide students in conversation. Other teachers are more proactive in discussions and guiding students to speak up. Being a native speaker doesn't necessarily make her a better teacher.
